To view a Quicktime VR, you must have the free Quicktime viewer installed on your computer. Click here: www.apple.com to download the free viewer. (Uncheck the boxes and you won't have to enter in an e-mail address, then you can just download and not have to worry about getting more junk e-mail).

Quicktime Virtual Reality images (QTVR Panoramas) are images that you can click on the image, and hold down your left mouse button while the mouse pointer is in the image, and move around inside the image to different points in that image.

You can spin all the way around, 360 degrees, and also zoom in by pushing on your 'Shift' key, and zoom out by pushing on your 'Ctrl' key. VR's take a few seconds (anywhere from 3 to 45 with a cable or DSL modem to load, so when you click on one, have some patience: you will see it 'downloading' at the bottom of your screen. It is not downloading anything bad, just the image into memory on your computer so you can navigate it with your mouse. There will be more on how to navigate these images on the Quicktime VR's link located in the side menu bar.
